Hi
I have a drivetrain out of a '89 GT that I'm going to put into my '71 Maverick. I'm wanting to put a carb on it probably somthing like a Peformer RPM and a 600 edelbrock. How much mileage do you think I will loose and do you think there will be a power difference? I guess I'm not looking for a mpg number just an opinoin if you think the mileage difference between the efi and the carb would be noticable.
Thanks
Bob

Depends on the state of tune, and how the car is used. The more 'steady state' (highway) the driving pattern is, the less difference in fuel mileage there's likely to be. And getting the carb/timing curve set up correctly makes a BIG difference.

Why the swap to carb if you already have the efi drivetrain?

yea, why not just use the computer and wires out of the fox, it would be impressive to see and efi(generalization) is more efficient than carb.

Hmm, i wouldn't use a edelbroke carb.
Go with a 600 Demon, they're the cadillacs of
carbs in my opinion. easy, easy, easy to tune.

Well I kind of wanted to go with the carb set up cause I didn't know if I wanted the look of the EFI. But today I was going through a Summit and found an intake make by BBK called the SSI Series I think looks pretty cool so I may go the EFI route with one of these BBK intakes.
