How much rwhp loss would you expect from switching from 3.27 to 4.10 gears?

The loss is nill, even with the tiny amount, the 4.10's more then make up for it.

gears dont add hp they just multiply torque

There is no loss, but the gears don't put the power to the ground as well because the way it's setup.

You can search through several threads for more detail, but the loss on a dyno is minimal although you'll still be going faster on the street.

Ah interesting. I'll have to do some more research on that. I always thought changing would show an increase in both tq and hp to the ground. Makes sense now that I'm thinking about it though... tq is higher, but rpms are higher, too, keeping the hp to the wheels about the same, or something along those lines, right?

Yes I know that changing gear DOES NOT make you lose or gain rwhp.. however, there seems to be some loss readings on dynojet. Why? I cannot answer you because there's too much information for me to understand right now.. All I want to know is what's the typical loss reading on the dynojet once the 4.10 is installed if there's any at all. Thanks for all the replies..

You will loose 2 - 3 HP on the dyno. This is due to the increase in the amount of friction with 4.01's. It is merely nothing and other factors like weather will certainly affect dyno results much more.

Some show a few hp loss, some dont. If you dyno your car one day, then dyno it the next day, you will probably gain/loose a few hp as well. Im willing to bet most of the "loss" people see is just simply different weather conditions or other variables. The gains you will feel from the gears will more than equal the couple you MAY loose.

Calculations are fin and dandy, but they don't take into accound the frictional and inertial (sp?) losses. everything from the crank to the ring gear has to spin, mesh and slide against each other that much more.

I personally know of two (well known) 2VNA cars that have LOST rwhp on a Dynojet from nothing more than switching to steeper gears. This dosent mean the engine has lost power, it simply means that steeper gears will effect (in some cases) the overall rwhp number.
