How much should I pay to get SFC's welded in?

Title says it all. I bought SFC's back in August when I got the car, but they just sat in my room. Figured I'd take them in tomorrow to the guys that fabbed the exhaust systems for my '66 and '01.
Just want to make sure they're reasonable, and that I know what reasonable is.

When I took the '01 in 2 years after I took the '66 in, one of the guys asked me about the '66. Hopefully if they recognize me this time(3 years later), they won't be mad that I just bolted my own system in on the '95. LOL

I paid 1 hr labor at a friends shop, $65. It took a little more than 1 hr. It's really a pretty simple job.

also curious.....you guys think a exhaust shop would know what to do??

How hard could it be? I wouldn't get a proctologist to do it, but exhaust guys should know enough about cars. Plus exhaust shops are usually the only ones with the right lifts for welding SFC's.

you can mess it up, ie not weld in the right spots or not do a proper weld...

when I took mine in the guys working on it were horrible welders (this was a performance shop). They basically just "tacked" it on, and the welds were horrible, and not according to MM instructions. I had to break the welds and get my father to weld it the right way.


You want somone who knows what they are doing

Looks pretty straight forward to me.
Also, the guys I'm hoping to have weld it fabbed two exhaust system for me, so I know they can weld.

i paid 125 to have mine installed....they painted them too so they wouldn't rust

Well...the exhaust shop wouldn't touch anything on the frames.
Kinda sucks, cause they're the only place that would do the work as it walks in.
They sent me to a welding company, and I also went to a Mustang restoration shop. Both need me to schedule, but today was the only weekday off I have in town. Guess it's gonna wait.

Quick question though. What do you all do with the e-brake cable on the driver's side? It's right on the bottom of the front subframe. I'm thinking drill into the side of the subframe or on the bottom of the SCF.

Cost me $60 in the Bay Area, CA which is unheard of...and my GW's are the overkill subs that require more welding than most full-lengther's.

***JUST MAKE SURE whoever does it doesn't weld them in with your wheels hanging!! The car must be sitting as it would on level ground...***

thats what it took to install mine not super complicated.. but they did everything opposite of what the instructions said
