Yeah I know, sucks.
But seriously, I'm not sure how much I should ask for my car. It's a 2001 GT with the bullit style rims, all options except sunroof, electric green, 23,000 miles and the following mods:

-PMAS MAF w/ big fancy filter
-steeda boost-a-pipe
-Paxton novi 1000
-Vortech mini race bypass
-Custom metal intake tubing (from S/C to TB)
-Accufab TB and plenum
-Ford racing 42# injectors
-SCT excal 2 with custom dyno tune
-MT S/S 4R70W transmission (1900 new)
-BBK catted h pipe
-SLP Cat back
-SVT focus fuel pump

I think thats about it. The NADA says 13k-15k, but thats without a S/C of course:nice:
All opinions welcome except "give it to me for free" or " I'll trade you for my duck boat"

I agree, 12k is prolly the ceiling unless you find someone that wants all the mods you have and is willing to pay a little more to have a car thats done rather than mod one. That was my mindset when i bought mine, i'd rather have certain things already done, so i paid a hair more than i would have otherwise.

you can gat at least what the book says if they dont like the mods they can take them off. why would you except less then book? because its not stock, who cares. guys that buy mustangs mod them.

the blower may throw some people off but others will be happy to get it for stock price.

turn it back to near stock and sell it. a blower adds to speculation that the car was beat on.

and mods take away from the value of the car in my eyes for the stated reason above.

I'm willing to do you a favor, and take the blower off your hands for cheap :D.

I have bought three 99+ GT's. All of which were mod'd. I have paid MORE for that, not even 50% of the value of mods, but I did pay more. I'd say list yours at $15,000 and you'll probably sell in the 13's to 14's. I'd pay that at least.

Most people wont pay extra for mods, but you can find the right buyer if you are not in a hurry.

If someone wants to put a blower on a GT, they can get the whole package done already and not have to pay the $4K for the blower, not to mention the other parts.

You have to ask yourself how soon you need to sell this car? If you have another one to drive right now. I wouldnt bother taking parts off. Advertise it on Mustang boards (corral, stangnet, local boards, etc.) -- take advantage of the FREE ads. Then if you dont get any bites... try your local Auto Trader. All you have to lose is $40. Dont go the eBay route though.

The right buyer will come along and want everything you have done to the car. Whethere it is a youngster with a new-found fortune, or someone who just happens to want a Mustang with a blower -- but just doesnt want to mess with bolting one on themselves.

I say save your time un-doing your mods. Some things dont go back to a "stock fit" that you might plan making it look like its been tampered with, and this might scare off a potential buyer.

Different buyers look for different things. Hearing someone say that a stock Mustang vs one with a S/C are worth the same is BS. Just because these said individuals say that they wouldnt buy a modded Mustang... doesnt mean the guy down the street wont.

Different strokes.... different folks.

Key things if you are putting it out with a for sale sign in it.

Give her a good wax/wash/claybar.... but try not to go crazy with the Amor-all or other shiny products inside -- you dont want to make it look like you tried too hard -- people find it hard to resist a shiny car on a beautiful day

Clean up under the hood too, you know they will most certainly look under there, again try not to go TOO overboard -- they will think its too good to be true and maybe walk away

FILL UP THE TANK -- Especially with gas how it is, people want to look at that TANK and know that they wont have to spend $50 bucks right off the bat

Think of any place you think a potential car buyer will not look, AND CLEAN THERE!!! --- doorjams/trunk jams.... in the spare wheel well, under the license plate

how do you only have 290 hp?

the blower may throw some people off but others will be happy to get it for stock price.

ebay might not be a bad idea. i bought my 35th aniversery over a year ago with 38K miles on it, and sold it on ebay recently for $3,500 more than i paid for it with 15K more miles also. now is the time to sell a car.

What do you want for it w/ SC?

Not sure. I think I may take the mods off except the tranny. Then I can get maybe 13k-14k for the car and 3k-3.5k for the parts, giving me 16-17k. If someone will pay 16-17, which I'm not sure anyone will thats what I would like to get for it.
Taking of the mods will be quick and easy, so I'm not worried about that. I would just like to get maximum $ for everything. So I think I may just take the mods off. Maybe
hard decision
