for those of you that have gotten it done, i have everything removed excpet brake lines, all holes are welded up and i just need someone to do the filler cuase: 1) i suck at body work 2) its too cold to lay filler now. i'm just looking for a ball park price of what you paid to compare it to quotes i have got.

my little rant (you may skip over)
i had one guy come out and he just seemed pissed off for some reason, first he asked why i filled all the holes, then he's telling me everything thats wrong with my car (mismatched color form engine by to the rest of the car cuase of the previous owner) and other little things that he thought was wrong with my car (didn't seem to like the intercooler hanging behind the bumper) i also mentioned that i was looking at getting the whole car re-sprayed and he says "oh at least $7000" i don't unerstand that cause the car has no rust on it at all. bassically i think he is a prick and didn't want to do the work so he was throwing out crazy numbers, this was a pretty well known shop too.

anyway, please let me know what you think a reasonable price would be and/or what you paid

My advice is get out and look @ paint jobs I mean LOOK @ them and talk to the owners and 9 times out of 10 you'll find most of your show ready paint jobs are painted @ mom & pop shops or someone's back yard well thats what I did my buddy had just started his own shop and needed a rolling business card..... so I let him paint my car Just so you know my paint job should've cost well over 6K but I only spent about 2500. and FYI my car has never seen a paint booth it's all in the body work I'm not trying to brag but just look how flat my clearcoat is. So look around and I'M sure you'll find someone
I hope.......LOL

i've been looking around but its hard to get them to give me any kind of idea without seeing the car and its not like i can just drive it down to these palces (no motor) some body shops make appointments to come look at it and then don't show up. all the nice cars are put away for the year so its even harder to ask around when everyone is in their winter beaters lol.

It cost me $600 to get mine done. I had ripped everything out except for the brake lines and it needed a few welds in the inner fender due to cracks and a LOT of prep work. I'll post a pic of it when I get home.

i was planning on por15 for my engine bay when i rip the motor out in a couple weeks. I am unsure if i am going to spray or brush it on. I know it says you can do either, but not sure if my buddy wants to spray that kind of paint.

so maybe take a look at that system, you can get a cleaner/degreaser, then another bottle of crap you spray, and then the POR15 itself.
