How much to paint chameleon???

Ok so my front bumper cover and side skirt were already damaged and some ahole decided to key my passenger side door. I have a new bumper cover (spider X-9) and I went to a paint shop that is going to get back to me today with a price to paint. He said the door can be blended into the rear 1/4 panel and he can also do the same for the side skirt. How much do you think I should expect to pay for something like this? I have a chameleon color paint and its on a 98 cobra. Also I live in Southcentral PA because I hear prices are different in different places.

I don't know how much it would be, but it won't be cheap. That's a tough one to blend and not have it too shiny, etc. Post some estimates that you have been getting and I can ask some of my friends (that paint) if it sounds reasonable or not.

Last estimate I got for total paint job was $8,000 for because they didn't want to worry about mismatch.

Wow I could get the whole car painted for waaaayyyyy less than that.

No its not a mystic they only made those in 96. Mine is a 98 that when i bought it, it was already repainted in this color.

You know who could give you a good estimate?

1) a body shop
2) someone who has actually seen the car
3) its gonna cost $6000

$6000 i know the guy who had the car painted and it didnt cost him that much to have the entire car painted

If it really is mystic your F'd. I think you have to petition the damn government to get quarts of that paint after sending in your VIN

No its not mystic i forget exactly the name of it but the guy i went to yesterday just called n left a msg and he's going to do it for $895 + tax

The big cost is the paint. Surprisingly, if it is anything like the Mystic paint, it is probably easier to blend then normal paints. Because of color shifting, it is not as noticeable.

i know the 04 (?) mystic is like $400/qt and it WILL cost $8000 if you have ford repaint it. its NOT cheap paint.

LOL 4 quarts will REPAINT an ENTIRE car. 3 quarts will paint a vert...plus clear of course...it pays to be a painter by trade no more than 1,000 for that paint job

Yup like i said $895 + tax. Im here in PA so its 6% tax it will come out to something around $950 total. $8000 was smokin crack

If you're inquiring about the cost of paint alone, then the title of your thread is wrong.
