I hope you guys can help. I am in the process of swapping a 351w into my '92 GT. I got a great deal on it, ($150), so I want to just slap it in there. It is a recent Jasper rebuild with approx. 30,000 miles. Everything looks good with the internals. The engine is already bored 40 over. Here is the combo I plan to use:
351w bored 40 over
AFR 185's (purely a street car and emmisions are a concern)
TFS 351w intake
1.6 RR
75mm T/B
Biggest mass air meter I can find
24#'ers
AFPR
190 lph pump
1 3/4" longtubes
Not sure on cam-looking at TFS stage 2
I know the engine was built with a Full size econo van in mind, and I believe the setup with 69cc heads produced 8.2 - 8.5:1 compression. I hope to be near 9.0:1 with 60cc heads. What would the real world difference be in this combo with 9.0:1 compression compared to the same setup with 10.5:1 compression? I guess I am asking how much of a difference does compression make in HP/TQ?
