How often / what mileage to replace shocks and struts?

Just replaced the rear shocks on my 2013 at 100,000; car is 90% highway and was tadpoling over dips. Can't believe how much better it rides now for a 60 minute project to R&R them, and will do front struts next b/c I figure they're as worn out as backs.

What's typical replacement cycle for these things based on your experience?

I replaced the factory shocks and struts with Koni at around 2,000 miles on my 2011 v6. The factory shocks and struts are pure 'crap' from day 1.

That's one way to do it. How many miles are you getting from your Konis.

Just a little over 31,000 miles on my almost 9 year old v6 Mustang I guess I have around 29,000 miles on the Koni's

I always heard around 50K miles to replace shocks/struts but you can get more life out of them than that.
