I know it is 4 bolt cross mains. But exactly how strong is that? how much power can it handle without breaking. There turbo kits that add anywhere from 300-800 horsepower so does does the bottom hold up?

Typically 400RWHP is the magic number. Some people have gotten by with 420 or 440 for awhile, but eventually break. 500RWHP would be a time-bomb with the powder-metal rods we have.

Weak link in the 4.6 GT motors is the rods and Pistons. They are both manufactured from metal powder that is compressed and heated into their shapes. Cams are manufactured by the same process. From what I've read and understand, your pushing your luck at 400 HP.
yep, the crank is stout along with the block, but the rods are complete CRAP!!! I have no idea why Ford didn't just raise the price of the car $200 and put at least hardened steel if not a cheap set of in house forged rods in it.
