Just out of curiosity,
anyone want to guess how this combo will run:

Coast 331 balanced and blueprinted short block
Stock iron truck heads (89 Bronco) rebuilt (new seats, etc.) by local machine shop
Coast 1.6 roller rocker arms
Stock truck cam- non roller hydraulic lifters
Stock truck intake
Single exhaust with hi flow cat and flowmaster 40 series
Granatelli era Paxton supercharger 6 lbs of boost ( I think), will be freshened before re-installed
19LB injectors
Rusty stock truck valve covers (you thought stock Mustang valve covers were bad?)
Sachs clutch kit (for Mazda/toyo koygo trans)

On this note,
what oil pump & shaft to buy,
can I reuse original pushrods
what water pump to buy
can I reuse original cam & lifters (keeping them matched to the lobes, of couse!
what head gaskets, timing cover gaskets should I buy and where from.
If this combo makes sense I would like to budget out beforehand.

Looking for max torque and smoothness for an '89 Bronco with piston slap at startup and 110K on the blown motor.

Wrong blower for maximum torque, but sounds like you already have it. What's the intended usage of this Bronco? 4x4'ing?

If this truck is not MAF, it may not like the increase in displacement.

ok here are some more specifics

This Bronco does see a lot of creepy crawling low range 4 wheeling in the Mojave desert. But…I drive 2-300 miles to get there at high (well for a Bronco at least) speeds. It is driven on the street regularly as well.

I also pull a small motorcycle trailer from time to time.

Thanks!
