how to convert drums to disc

Ok, my 67 is supposed to be here monday. Its got front drum brakes that I want to be my first mod to convert em to discs. Now I want to know EXACTLY what parts to get off of what to do it. Cuz knowing me Id get 95% of the parts, take it apart, and cant finish it. And im talking restomod here, where you get the parts from other cars.

i have a 67 also i used the wilwood disc barke setup i liked it it used the original spindles and came with all new hardware. i felt this was easier instead of ahving to track down all the parts it also seemed more cost effective to me.

Try this web site. It looks pretty good to me. I haven't done the conversion, so I don't know for sure about it. This guy seems to have done a lot of research, though.

well, im wanting to snag em off other cars cuz you can do it for about $400 that way im told

I know that you are trying to save money, but sometimes when you do the Granada swap you end up spending nearly as much as a kit would cost. Check with Master Power brakes. I got a complete power disc setup for appx $800.00 It's a good setup too.

I used the mustang steve route for my booster and clutch setup. My car came with disc brakes off of other ford cars. Now I am in the process of doing the complete front end so I plan to swap out to wilwood to make my system modern and also so I know what parts I have on the car and do not have to play guessing games when it is time to do the brakes. Whatever you decide to use, make sure you keep track of the year, make and model. The previous owner of my car could not remember anything...

another option for 347fastback

a less expensive option for 347fastback, seeing how you already have stock disc brakes, is to upgrade the rotors to a Crossdrilled & Vented aftermarket set that are a straight bolt on factory replacement. These combined with a performance brake pad from Porterfeild (model R4-S pads) will improve your braking performance for a fraction of the cost.
These rotors cost $ 225.00/pr and the Pads are $131.00/set from www.muggziperformance.com
