how to feed seafoam to the 5.0

dosnt matter how you do it, as long as it gets into the intake charge.

the easiest way is the Brake booster. thats how i did mine. just sort of feed the seafoam to it, the engine will bog when it starts buring it. So be careful not to let it die. when your done let it sit and then start it up and the car should smoke for a bit. The more carbon build up---the more smoke.
 
I dont think sea foam realy does much. I put it in my car then took the heads off a few weeks later when I got my thumpers and there was still a ton of carbon caked on them. They looked no better than 200k mileage heads would normally look. I wish I would have taken pictures of them.

Yeah, I'm gonna try to see if I can find any reviews or tests stating that Seafoam actually works. I've used it a few times myself, but I never notice any major improvements or anything. I guess if your car is running ****ty to begin with you might notice something. :shrug:

The seafoam is decent for cleaning the intake runners and valves and such, but that carbon in the combusion chamber, the best way to crack that off is water being sprayed into the intake with the car good and hot. The water hits the hot carbon and breaks it up. Some even say an anti-freeze mixture really does it. I know it works, ever see a blown head gasket, where it blew is where it's really clean.

After the seafoam treatment my intake manifold runners and the intake valves looked just as cruddy as they did a year earlier when I took the intake off and painted it. I stand by what I said, I have seen the before and after results of seafoam, there was no difference. Seafoam is just good for finding exhaust leaks IMO. However I dont know what its effects on fuel injectors might be. I would like to know if it actually cleans them very well.
 
I work as an automotive technician. Tried seafoam, just a smoke show. What we use, and really, really works is called BG. You can't buy it from any store, it's kind of like amsoil and such, only through a distributer. Anyways, that stuff rules. I feed one through the intake, one in the tank, and then the other through the injectors themselves by turning off the fuel pump and hooking my canister tool up to it. Now that makes the difference. You have to have to tools as well as the chemicals. Oh, and don't forget the change your fuel filter every 15-25K. Still though, water is really the only way to kill combustion chamber carbon buildup.

Not a lot of water at all, and get it hot, and then afterwards I would drive it some to get any little puddles out. Only a mist of water, don't just go pouring water or any other liquid in there.
 
Water isnt exactly the best thing to be putting into the intake,and if you do make sure its as fine a mist as possable.At the speed the water particales can reach,it can errode aluminum heads with in a short period of time.Iron heads like the stock ones would probably hold out longer,but still dont clean it out like that alot.
