The GTS II seats are $640 and they kind of look like the originals. Good call on the destruction. I think I have wanted to do that everytime I have taken on a job on the car that I thought would be easy.

I'm glad you have a lot of money to spend. I didn't, so I made a trip to the J/Y and bought a driver's side seat for $40. I used the bottom set frame rails to fix the sliding problem where the seat wouldn't lock.

I took the headrest and upholstery off. Then I spent a hour getting re-acquainted with my aircraft rivet gun and how to lay out a rivet pattern, drill holes and drive hard monel steel rivets. When I was finished, the seat wasn't ever going to break again. The work didn't quite look like NASA quality, but it's not the space shuttle either. All my flying will be done at much lower altitudes.

A few weeks later, Hissin50 was wrestling with trying to get the headrest off without good results. The old seat frame was still stilling in my carport, so I took some digital photos and posted them to help out Hissin50 with his headrest problems. I think I got a lot out of my $40 expenditure and was able to help a friend too

LOL - That's hilarious. Mine was a leaning tower as well.. my buddy was over with the welder and we had no problems dismantling the seat and welding up the one spot. Good as new.. infact, better!

The design of the seat is just crap. One side has a beefy hinge and the other is just a flimsy piece with a bolt...

Prolly shouldnt have smashed it and just Ebayed them...

But hell I enjoyed it.

Im thinking about getting some Corbeau TRS seats or their A4 seats.
Will their standard size fit a 36-38" waist?

I dont want to get the 2" wider ones and slide around.

I have the TRS and it is very comfy.
But I do not care for the fabric. Maybe the new material they have will be more durable?

The small size you mentioned will fit in the car just fine. A friend of mine has the larger seats, and they rub on the arm rest of the door.

I'm looking at the Legacy seats in the wide version...since I take the Mustang on road trips to different car shows and what not. I need something that's comfortable.
