Hi guys what to get low 11’s on the track. What mods are needed for 98 Cobra to get it. I have $6000. I don’t want to use NOS. and can use it for daily driver without any problems

Any of the centrifugal or roots/screw blowers or even a turbo will do it. Get a good tune and you will loose no driveability. I would avoid Pro-Charger if factory dirveablity is what your after. If your looking to do it on all motor you'll need some steep gears and ferocious launches which will not bode well for highway driving or longevity.

9# Kb, mid pipe, cat back, 3,73's, DYNO TUNE, Slicks, TB, injectors, fuel pump, colder plugs, ect. should do it.

Kenny Bells are pricey but worth it. With those slicks, battle boxes, control arms and sub-frame connectors will be needed to hold it together. I beleive the KB's are between $4,000.00 and $5,000.00.

If you wanted to stay n/a....gears (4.56's), DR's, FULL exhaust, FRPP valvetrain kit, p/p heads, short intake runner, chip/tune, pullies, intake/maf....that should get you around 360-370rwhp......that might only be good for low 12's though.

A very simple solution would be a powercooled vortech V1 kit @ 10psi, with a tune and full exhaust. That would get you near 500rwhp and would be right around $6000. Or you could opt for a cheaper non-cooled kit, and cheaper exhaust setup, and get forged pistons rods, to be safe.

Pretty much a simple vortech kit is the easiest and most efficient way to get into the 11's with your requirements at mind. Even a stock 96-98 Cobra with exhaust, DR's and vortech kit @8+psi should be good for 11's.

Just to let you know, if you throw on a blower, some very steep gears, and slicks on your car, you will snap your axles like they were toothpicks. So to answer your question, yes you do need to build your rear end. Look into some strange or moser 31 splines and diff. limited slip. Rembember......make the car bullit-proof first before you shoot it up and down the 1/4.

what about this mix
cam ( not desid which size), Full exhaust, kb, 3.73 ratio, intake & chip, rebuilt the rear end, shifter, TB,some suspension, drag radials.

Do i need to change the piston? does the kb work on 93 octen?
