How to Get My 60' Down?

Hello, simple question. I have 4.10s and BFG Sports and they helped a lil. The lowest 60 ft i had so far was a 2.035. I have and auto and i power brake to 1500 RPM. I'm thinkin maybe new rear tires but any tips on the launch? Any easy mods i can add on? I think some upper and lower controls would help but someone told me i might not need both of them.

2.0 is a pretty good 60' for plain ol' radial tires. Even with a 5-speed, I didn't get 1.9's on radials that frequently.

Wow, that is a very open ended question... Are you overpowering the tires, or not able to get power to the ground?

If you still have traction to spare, then a higher stall converter should get the rpms up to where you make more torque and cut down that 60' time.

If you have more power than traction, then obviously you'll want to do traction mods.... better rear tires, smaller sway bar, move the battery to the trunk, skinnies up from, ect ect.

With an auto you'll never get any better than a 1.9 60ft without installing a high stall torque converter. A 1.9 is almost impossible even with slicks. Not enough low end torque. Of course with the torque converter, you'll need slicks or drag radials as well. A 2.0 60 ft is excellent, especially with street tires.

Right, just go with the lowers. People say that uppers are for those who are SERIOUS racers. I've heard uppers aren't so great in a DD. You might consider changing the tires to some KDW's or Eagle F1's, or even buying some 15" junk yard rims and putting slicks on them.

I would put some drag radials on and stall it as high as you can on the launch. It will stall higher with drag radials.

with drag radials, do i just need 31 spline axles or do i have to upgrade the dif too?

With my auto GT, drag radials made concistant 2.0 60 ft's possible, probably help over the 330, but I could get 2.0's from my street tires as well. You need a high stall torque converter to really launch hard. Then think about suspension mods.

No, the stock axles are fine, till you make some serious power.

run the stock diff and axles on slicks/DR's until they snap, then upgrade
