How to make 350Hp to the wheels

Whats up guys im plannin on buildin a stock bottom end 302 5.0 out of a crashed 5.0 mustang im lookin to hit 340-350 hp. Im plannin on using the GT-40 aluminum heads and one of there cams not sure yet. I also plan on using the Gt40 (tubular) intake manifold. I think i want to use the DSS main support system and windage tray with a canton deep sump pan. I guess im goin to use 30lbs injectors? and not sure which size throttle body and MAF yet. I have a lot to work out still. I also plan on hittin the motor with a 50-75 shot of the gas to et it over 400. I guess my question would be, can I make 340 HP usin the parts i just listed. Thanks guys

Yeah I'd get different heads if you can. GT40's are okay but AFR 185's or TFS Twisted Wedges are better and emissions legal, if that's what you're after. I'd look at the Comp Cams XE series of cams.

i seriously doubt those parts would make 350 rwhp. i am guessing 280rwhp, maybe 300 with a tune. but those parts with a supercharger making 8-10 psi would definatly make 350 rwhp, maybe closer to 400 if you get it tuned good.

Foxfan and shortthrow are right on...those parts are very unlikely to get close to 350rwhp.

Now if you got some extra money (easier said than done), go with AFR 185 heads (you will need aftermarket pistons with deeper/wider valve reliefs), Holley Systemax intake, and a custom cam - www.flowtechinduction.com.

The cam will be critical.

I would get some 1 5/8" longtubes, 70mm throttle body, and a 80mm MAF and higher compression, in the 10.5:1+ range.

Losing some accessories like your air conditioning and power steering will help you with gains...

Yeah, that's about right.

The day I had my Cougar in to get tuned there was an '89GT there getting done before me. He had Edelbrock heads, Cobra intake, stock cam, 70mm T/B, full exhaust and under drive pulleys and he made 298RWHP and 328RWTQ with 94-octane and a good long cool down. The tuner had at this point tuned hundreds of Mustangs and stated this particular one was amongst the strongest he's ever seen. Most of them he said had been putting down about 280-290RWHP with the same bolt-ons.

That being said, he might see 345-350rwhp with the described small hit of nitrous, but otherwise, the only way he's going to measurably increase his power levels N/A (while still remaining streetable) is going to be by adding displacement. And even then it would be close!

I HAVE the ede rpm 60259 heads and xtreme cam 224/230@50 110-106 lobe- 509/512 lift/////// 10.5 comp, ede rpm intake,kb domes 60 over to a 311///
msd ignition..9 degrees adv and 38 degrees totle timing
plasma molly file to fit rings/arp bolts//rollerrockers from EPW//ede 750carb////hv oil pump,hv wp,BBK headers and a X pipe

stage 3 c4 with a 3200 stall 3.73 gears posi//

a 125 shot in case..hopin i can get 300+rwhp

ihave windsor jrs on//but i have to much comp with 58 cc goingback to rpms with 60cc

Great suggestions, I agree. Save your money on the main girdle, it won't do anything. Get a good set of heads (AFRs, Twisted Wedges) and a custom cam. I know you said stock bottom end, but I would go with some high compression FORGED pistons. Since you plan on nitrous, higher compression is a great suggestion since it will help your n/a hp a lot, and nitrous loves compression too. I still don't think you will reach 350rwhp without a wicked cam and spinning the thing to the moon though.
