How to make car loud at idle

i have 40 series flowmasters and im looking to go quieter. did someone have 50 series they wanted to get rid of?

thats what im hoping will quiet my car down enough. stroker and a big cam = too much noise.

dont want to hi-jack this thread, but i dont want quiet. i want quieter.

i live in a residential area, and the people are very quick to call the cops/bitch their head off. i know my car is too loud now with a stroker, so i want to go a little quieter.

if you want a loud setup, i have bbk 1 5/8" headers, o/r h-pipe, flowmaster 2 chambers dumped. definately loud.

I have 3 chambered flows,theres about 4000 miles on them,,excellent condition!!

I'm not sure which flowmasters i have but i'm pretty sure they are 40 series. Like I said, the car is loud when moving, just at idle it's a little hard to hear. And no, i don't have enough for h/c/i right now so i guess i should try taking the cats off, after emissions testing of course :)

A cam does not nessacerily make a engine louder at idle. It can allow the engine to run extremely rough and sound louder. Create a vacuum leak and a stock cam will be lumpy also. Its the cats that are muffling your engine. If you have stock mufflers I'd get rid of those and throw on some 40 series flowmaster mufflers, and an x or h-pipe. An x-pipe will give you a more aggressive sound, h-pipe which will just give you an obnoxious drone sound, but loud also.

I thought x-pipe was more of a high pitched sound? And the h is more throaty. I want to keep the throaty deep sound. I also don't want to be obnoxious though. I asked about h's and x's a long time ago and someone said that in my car if i were to get an x-pipe, i would lose power. I think my problem is most likely the cats.. Thanks.
