I know i have seen threads on this but EGR is too small of a word to look up...

Anyways I need to know how you guys without a chip got your check engine light to come off without having an active EGR?

So far this is the only downside to my new pms system...

unscrew the white piece on the back of egr valve off, with conector still attached. Tape the prong so that it's pressed in, and that should give the computer a good egr signal, without the valve present.
I taped it all the way down and the cel still came on... Maybe it is half way like mytight said? I will check it out later... Either that or its coming on for some other reason?

Anybody else do this?

It is 1/2 way. I did that and no C/E light until the heat from the engine melted the tape and came loose :notnice: did that a few times so I said screw it... I'll deal with the C/E light

Pushing it in half-way, worked like a champ... Thanks guys...

BTW i think this week im going to cut that needle in half and find a way to screw a plate down flush... If it turns out good i will let you all know...

I think Andy rigged up something kinda like that... Drilled a hole in a rod that held the plunger down 1/2 way. Not sure if it was him, but remember reading about it a long time ago.

thats not a half bad idea... cut the pluger really short, then drill like a pilot hole perpendicular with the plunger and then while holding it down with something put a screw or pin in of some sort...

I saw a thread where there is already a screw hole in the side. By putting a tiny screw in it, his stopped. Mine did not have one so I took High Temp RTV and covered it really good. So far, not a problem.

i took a piece of stock alum. and mic'd the length of the plunger rod, and then drilled the hole in the alum. half of that in depth, i then took some self tapping screws and put three through the holes in the sensor into the alum. never had another prob. with it coming loose or anything

p.s. i tried taping it and it eventually fails, and that &$*% light drives me nuts

what effects does it have to the tune of part throttle?

also what effects do long tubes have on the part throttle and WOT tune?

I wouldnt want to do the 2 and have it go too lean at part.
