how to plug smog holes in head,easiest way

i was looking at the smog tubes on the back of the heads.
they look eastyto remove.
but whats the easiest way to plug them?

the space is verry tight,and not visable at all inside the hole.

i heard people
using a threaded bolt,but need to clean the hole,which sounds difficult

cutting the tube and pinching it

or just cutting the tube and puttung a rubbber hose with a bolt pluging the end.

theres 2 vacumes a yellow and white
what are those 2 valves that they are pluged into on the smog hoses?

They sell plugs at ford, or if your in a bind you can use spark plugs..hehe

threaded bolts

I found a great article for this and can't remember where, the size bolts are 9.16 NC GR5 with a few washers or cut bolt to less than 3/4 inche.
You can go to google and type "mustang smog system removal" or something along those lines and should come up with at least 1/2 dozen how tos.

cut the tube off the parts that used to attach to the head, flip them over to the flat side, and bolt them down.... easy as pie, and dirt cheap....

mytight...that sounds like the way im gonna do it...

your saying that square part...if you flip it over,you can use the same bolt that is originally in there?and it ligns right up?

and does it seal verry good? or did you use sometype of silicone?

dannydoo, you can buy some of the high temp gasket maker..... I used just a lil of it to be absolutely sure and have had no leaks in 1.5 years.....

and yes cut the tube flip over the metal flange thingy that the tube is made into, and then bolt it down with the same bolt just make sure it is covering the hole....

I just put a rubber cap on the tube and left it in my heads. got it in the help section at auto parts store.

Seen this done many times and it works.

It goes with saying that with this method.........................
you can't use that smog tube again, lol.

true, but once you remove the smog, how many people will ever consider putting it back on.......

the rubber plug mentioned above kinda sounds questionable.... seems like the head would cause it to leak, as essentially it is exhaust coming out of that hole...

it's actually a vacume rather than an outlet for exhaust. I just put the rubber cap on it with a clamp and haven't had a problem. plus you can still put your smog equip. back on if you want.

I believe 1105 did the same thing.

well i can always use the spark plug if i have a hard time with anything else

the first time i heard that..i said,man

thats one efficient dude!i think it was eades who i heard it from first?

i was the king of rigging stuff when i was young..
i had a yz80 that had a hanger for a throttle,a vise grip for a gearshifter
a wire wrapped in tape with a piece of metal to ground it to the handle bar to cut it off.
and all kinds of crazy stuff like that.brakes?ha!who needs brakes?just downshift!
the best was when i had an old tm500 from like 1973..i welded the sprocket somehow so the tire couldnt be taken off...so when i got a flat,i couldnt fix it..so i just jammed it sox and shirts!!lmao hheheheheehe

it worked,i rode wheelies at 60mph,bent rim and everything!!while i was on a wheelie...it would hit a hard spot and the bike would jump in the air an inch or 2..the ass wobling was nothing i could describe.
the neibors would be in shock when i was hopping and wigglingg down the road on that old ass crustmobile on a wheeliee.

nothin stopped me from riding that thing. not even when the sprocket teeth wore down...i just grinded some new ones..hheeheheh

I TRY TO DO THINGS RIGHT now . im not 13 anymore.but im effective and efficient too when i need to be.

www.racerwalsh.com sells termactor(sp?) plugs I think they go for $12.

All you need is a 1/2 long 9/16 NC thread bolt. Perferably grade 8 w/ hex head. Put some thread sealer on the threads and install. That should do the trick.
