yes, my tranny's still busted. I dont have much time so i work on it slowly (been almost 2 months ) Anyways, everythings off save for the clutch assembly. How do i keep the clutch from spinning??? I cant turn the bolts because the clutch keeps rotating with every little effort i give it. Any way to stop it from moving??

Thanks!

Impact wrench with air compressor and PB Blaster. If you don't have the compressor or impact, rent or borrow one.

It is really important that you get an air compressor and air tools if you are going to be doing serious jobs like you are into now.

Go to a rental store that rents machinery. They will have both the tools, compressor and impact. Might cost a few bucks but well worth it.

Sorry man, the compressor was the first thing I got once I got a house. Now I have every air tool there is, except a nibbler.

Make sure you are spinning it counterclockwise...the clutch bolts shouldn't be on just to tight. But overtime it can get kind of gauled up in there...and making a sharp jerking motion might break them loose for you enough to loosen them...

An air impact is nice...you will really want it for the they flywheel bolts...

I never used an impact on mine, I simply stuck a screw driver through one of the extra holes in the flywheel and into a hole in the dust shield (or the big hole in it where where the starter comes through). I have done this more times than I can even begin to tell you and it works everytime.

I'm with Paul on the screwdriver trick works fine for me, done about 10 with no probs. Also works for the flywheel.

That works or you can take some cive grips and clamp the flywheel to the sorta thin metal plate between the flywheel and the block. I have an aluminum flywheel and I was able to do it that way. I had to be really careful not to gall it but it should be no problem at all for the stock cast iron one. But yea you can use a screw sriver too, I just didn't think of that when I was doing it. Doh!
