How do I go about removing the rear seats on my 2002 GT?
I searched the forums here and couldn't find anything about how to actually remove them. I also tried looking at the seats themselves, and couldn't decide on how they come out. It looks like a HARD yank might pull the bench up...but i wasn't sure about that and certainly wasn't going to break anything, lol.

Also, there used to be a guy on here that could do custom cutting and logoing into a rear seat delete kit. He could make any logo and could do "GT" and "SVT" and stuff with plexi-glass behind plywood and carpetting. Anyone know who does this or have his link? He had a cardomain page too, and i'd like him to make me something, but i dont remember who he is. Anyone know who/what im talking about?

There is a release tab mechanism that needs to be depressed to release the seats.

Carefully use a small flathead screw driver as the pic illustrates.

There are two tabs located approximately in the center of each seating area, just above the heel kick panel.

Ok, rear bottom seats are out. How do you take off the back rests now?

There should be a metal bracket on the bottom of each side of the back portion. It's easy to see. Remove the two bolts and then lift upwards on the seat back and it will come out.

How do you remove the two bolts? I saw them but there wansn't much room to work in there and I also noticed a big plastic "retaining clip" of some sort that the bolts went through.

I thought our seats were indentical eventhough we have different year cars, but maybe not. All I needed was a socket driver and once the two bolts were removed the seat came loose. I'm not sure if I have a picture but I have to hit the road right now. In a few hours when I'm back home if you still haven't gotten it removed I'll look for a picture of when I removed my seats.

My car doesnt look like that in the PIC, there is no metal bracket like that pic shows. Maybe i need to lift the seats to see them? I am going to pull about a 100 pounds off of the car when I run next time to the track after the cams, and thats not including running some 275/50/15 nitto DRs. Should be around 120 pounds+ lighter. I HAVE TO GET IN THE 12s!

So now i removed my rear seats, and im in the process of fabricating some plywood to cover the seat area.

The problem is that I am hearing a buzzing noise coming from the rear of the car. i would say it sounds like the exahust tips or mufflers "buzz" for a short while at certain rpms.

Think i have an exhaust problem that RANDOMLY occured when i took my seats out? Or did i forget to remove something with the seats that is making the buzz...?
