Silicone based solvent/cleaner. won't harm the paint and will clean up any wax residue form the pores in the stripes/decals on your car

I have a matte black super snake stripe on my car. i wax it all the tiem with the turtle wax ice liquid and spray waxes. Leaves no residue, which is why i use it. You whoudl be able to get the residue off with a clay bar or a very soft bristle brush. I'd be careful with teh clay though, I always worry it will scratch or peel the stripes.

Could you offer some names of products you've used with success?

It's also good at removing wax from the car itself so if you go this route apply it very carefully.

Similiar Note

What about "permanent" water spots on the stripes? I have matte stripes and they always look "spotted". I have even tried bleaching them, (lightly) scrubbing, etc...
