I have a 1995, and I recently bought some Boston Acoustics 5x7's with the intention of putting them up front in the doors and moving my Infinity Kappas into the trunk. Well I got the Boston's in easy, and now the Infinity's are sitting in my garage. I have no clue how to take the rear cover that goes over the very back and covers the speakers. I even tried taking the whole seat out and everything, and removing parts from there but the back cover still would not come out. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get to those damn speakers???? Please help, I dont like to just have a perfect set of Infinity Kappas just sitting in my garage, it makes me sad.

get a manual on your car from a local autozone (or the like) and it will have all kinds of good info, including step-by-step info. on removing and installing interior.... usefull to have

Fold down your rear seats and you will see 3 bolts directly behind the seats near the top where the seats rest against the black two humped looking thing. Take out those bolts and pull out the black humped thing. Now you have to take out the carpeted fiber board that sits on top of the rear deck. Its attatched 2 or 3 of those threaded plastic pins. Pry them up with a flathead screw driver or some needle nose pliers. After the pins are out the piece is a little tricky to get out. Try pulling from one corner and it should come out or try bending it in the middle by reaching your hand underneath and punching upwards. Dont worry unless you completely bend the piece in half, you cant really damage it, its pretty plyable. After thats out of the way you can unscrew the ole speakers and remove them. Make sure you have a short screw driver as there isnt much room because of the window. Reassembly is the reverse of assembly, nothing tricky.

yeah those are the pins.. i have no idea how you get that massive thing out without damaging it though.. just some good / lucky brute force.. we were putting the back speakers in stressing out over it and my friend just gave it a rip and got it out..
though he broke about a quarter of it off.. :notnice: oh well its hardly noticable.. especially once i tint my windows
