Car is a 91' GT, it's a daily driver. After not finding someone selling a pair of the no longer made FRPP control arms I bought an old pair off of a 94'. From talking to the techs at MaximumMotorsports they say it's a struggle to get the bushing out without bending or damaging the control arm. Anyone here done the job and have any tricks/tips to pass on?

I found the replacement bushing per another thread, here is the link.

Thanks in advance,

Jorge

What I read to do and worked very well is to use a drill with a drill bit. Just drill a bunch of holes through the bushing and eventually it will start to collapse and you'll be able to pull it out with some pliers.

Propane torch. Melt that sucker out of there. Seriously. You could mess around with presses and punches or deal with it with extreme authority.

Haha that doesn't sound like a bad idea either.

OneWheelPeel - Thanks, sounds like a good approach. How did you press them in? Place any blocking on the inside to prevent bending?

Freeze the bushing. Coat liberally with grease and they should go in fairly easily.

I usually set things on floors and hammer them in carefully. But that was with poly bushings. I cant tell if those that your'e looking at have a metal casing or if its rubber.

You guys rock. Thank you!

I think it has a metal case, part is en route. Doing my homework before I get myself in a pickle.

I was going to use marine grease for all bushing, both rubber and urethane. That sound correct?

Not sure. I assumed all bushing needed to be greased regardless?
