How to run fuel pump on 2000GT without starting it?

Is there a way to run the fuel pump on a 2000 GT by jumping a relay or something so that you can drain the tank without having to start the car?

A friend of mine in FL would like to get some fuel for his generator out of his car without siphoning it. He is stuck without power from the hurricane so he can't even get online to ask. amnit:

Any help would be appreciated.

Isn't it when you turn on the ignition the fuel pump comes on?

You could try just turning the key on.. and seeing if that would work.. but he may have to siphon it. Sorry to hear about your friends trouble.. hope he gets something figured out!

He tried to siphon it with a pump and it did not work.crapola

Then he tried to just key it over and it did not work either.....

The reason I ask is because I have done this several times on a fox body by jumping the relay under the seat to empty the tank to install a fuel pump.

Yes, you can.
Under the rear bumper unplug the fuel pump harness. Use a 12 volt source and put the wires in the plug that goes to pump. There are 6 places just find the right one really easy. I've done a few times on my 02 GT.
