I've been told that lowering springs actually hurt your launches on the strip, so I don't really know about getting those Eibachs (or Steedas, etc.) any more. I'm not a die-hard drag racer (yet) but are there ways to create a drag friendly suspension without disconnecting your sway bar, adding drag race springs, etc. while still having a car that handles as well as today's sports cars?

I've tried to achieve that goal, seems to have worked pretty well. I went with the following:
UPR Tubular K Member & A-Arms ......for obvious reason
QA1 Drag Race Coil Over Springs ......#140 rate
KYB AGX Adjustable Struts ........fully adjustable from darg to sport
Caster Camber Plates .............obvious again..
Stock Sway Bar, Poly Mounts ......gota have a sway bar to corner..
245-45-17 BFG KDY
8 pt roll cage with subframes
Rear:
UPR Pro Series Rear Suspension Kit
UPR Adjustable Solid Upper and Lower Control Arms ..tight for corners and hard for launches
UPR Anti Roll Bar .. Minimizes body roll in the corners and launches straight for drag racing.
UPR Tourqe Box Reinforcments ...duh
Stock Springs ...satisified
Stange Adjustable Shocks ..once again youll need adjustable shocks
274-40-17 BFG Comp T/A Drag Radials..and drag radails for obvious reason...The car hadles realllly tight around corners, doesnt feel like a boat, and is equiped with a full drag suspension.

You have to find that happy median, meet halfway. Your going to need adjustables, so when u bring it to the trip, ur loosen up the front for launches and tighten up the rear end..

If there was a great "all around" suspension it would be a torque arm suspension. www.griggsracing.com or www.maximummotorsports.com Griggs Racing offers a complete drag racing suspension. Adjustable shock/struts are desireable so that the suspension can be tuned for the strip, street, and roadcourse. Tokico makes a nice set of adjustable shocks 'n struts.

I'd also recommend visiting www.baselinesuspensions.com and read up on "Launching a Drag Car". Specifically, learn about rear control arm geometry and efficiently putting the power to the pavement. Control arm geometry is as critical for a road racer as drag racer. Spring-shock-strut rates are what primarily separate road race from drag race suspensions.

There are some Corral.net members claiming 1.2sec 60' times using Griggs Racing's torque arm suspensions.
