How to set the idle?

Ever since I put a 9.5" higher stall in my car it seem's when you put it into gear sometimes it just stall's like the idle is not high enoughto keep it going. I'm thinking that there is not enough rotating mass with the smaller stall kind of like changing to a lighter flywheel.

What do I have to do to up the idle? Is it just the idle screw? I read somewhere that you have to disconnect the battery so the computer learns the new idle setting. Is there anything else? What rpm is good?

Setting idle

I just converted a speed density to (stock) mass air in
preparation for a warmed up 351 swap, to make sure the
system basically works.

On the Pro-M website www.pro-flow.com they said to
set the idle like this:

with a warm engine, and the engine idling, disconnect the
idle air control. Adjust the manual idle screw (lower back
side of the TB) to get a 670 idle (I got about 700 just
looking at the stock tach), then reconnect the IAC.

I did this, and it settled down to a beautiful 750 idle.
Took a couple cold starts for the computer to relearn,
but now works beautifully.
