With $1000 dollars to spend what would be the best upgrades for an 05 GT?

Are you more interested in power or handling? For power, get an intake like a C&L or JLT and a tune. For handling get a set of Koni STR.T shocks and struts with Steeda Sport springs. A set of adjustable sway bars would be good too. Let us know what you want and we can guide you a little more.

My '06 GT's worst habit is wheel hop. If I had a grand to spend, I'd get control arms: 05-10 Mustang Chrome Moly Street Upper & Lower Control Arm Package and a cold air and tuner: 05-09 Mustang GT Cold Air Kit Polished & SCT Tuner

I am actually asking for a friend of mine. I have a fox mustang and he thought I would know about his car too. I know virtually nothing about the 05 and up cars. He is looking for more power at this time.

Ifs its stock, I recommend gears and tune with no cai to keep the cost down.

Intake/Tune is about $600, Lower Control Arms to get rid of wheel hop are about $150, then I'd spend the last $250 on either a new shifter or underdrive pullies

Uuummm, who's doing the work? You and your friend, or a shop? You might have a few extra dollars left for 1 or 2 other goodies if you're doing the work yourself.

Tuner + CAI , and rear upper and lower control arms. Plus springs or a shifter if you guys are doing the work yourselves and don't have to pay for labor.
