how to stop oil going thru this tube ?

Today I drain the oil from , my homemade oil catch can, and I also pull this hard tube out, and saw some oil in their, what is this tube for and how do I stop oil goint thru their ?

I dont have pix with me, but I google and found this engine pix ( note...my engine is not that dirty !! )

Hi,

I used to have that on my turbo cars when I lived in the UK and its normally just a bit of pressure build up in the sump caused by piston blow by or slightly worn rings.

I wouldn't worry unless there is loads of oil coming out threw there.

Just my opinion.

Your PCV valve may be defective. Replace it, that should solve your problem. Sounds like the PCV valve is not closing when it is suppose to, causing excessive crank case ventilation to build inside the tube or hose. The PCV valve is generally installed in a grummet on the valve cover where the tube or hose that you identified runs to. Take note of how the PCV valve is installed. The new one has to go back the same one. One direction only. Hope this helps. Good luck, Tommy.
