I want to strip off the coats of zaino I have from over the past few years and start off fresh. I will probably look into a different type of wax. Suggestions? How do I strip off the zaino?

Im pretty sure alot of people just use dawn hand soap or something similar.

I just used it (blue bottle) to remove the mother's wax of my step dads mustang to start fresh with a coat of zymol topped with S100. After a quick wash, the surface didnt feel slick anymore so I knew the wax was gone. I then followed up and washed it with car shampoo and waxed it later that evening.

Sal just released a paint cleaner as part of the Zaino lineup. You might want to give that a try.

http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-PC&Category_Code=Zaino

Zaino will not come off with soap and water or even Dawn. A lot of Zaino users use a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water. Shouldn't be necessary though if you go over the car with the new Zaino Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover. Might even improve the results you get with Zaino and it doesn't have to be washed off like other paint cleaners do.

Haven't used it myself but others have and say it works well.

Dawn will NOT remove Zaino. Zaino is not a wax, it is a synthetic polymer. Sal recommends Dawn to remove oils and wax prior to using Zaino but, it will do nothing to strip Zaino itself. As I said eariler, you either need to use a good paint cleaner or a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water.

Maybe i'll order that new zaino fusion paint cleaner. If I get time i'll give it a good wiping off with detail spray, then clay it, then a coat of that fusion paint cleaner and a coat of some Z2 polish. Might order some of that new Z8 grande finale spray as well.
