How to take off TB and EGR spacer?

I just went through this a couple days ago, GIANT pain to remove. I don't know if this is the best way but this is what I did....

Try to get the studs out, it will make this much easier. You can back two nuts onto eachother on the stud then try and back them out one at a time. Use lots of bolt buster/PB blaster spray. I ended up using a Vice Grip to twist those suckers out (only prob using Vice grips is that you will have to replace them (the studs). Once you hace the studs out you will have to persuade the EGR plate off (mine was stuck big-time).

Good Luck

what iff the studs are still screwed into the plenum?

I just went through the same thing.....I spent forever trying to WD40/rubber mallet the thing apart; finally (after a wasted day of trying to separate 'em), I picked up some hardened stud removers, hammered them on, and racheted the studs out. I guess a leaky gasket had let some fluid rust the whole thing assembly together. So anyway, 4 new studs from ford cost just over 20 bux, and after quite a bit of cleaning and dremeling, it was all like new.

I just did the same thing. If you can get another nut on the end of the stud you can use the original nut to back the bolt out. I had one break off and had to beat the heck out of the spacer and use a pry bar to get it off. i went to Home depot and bought repacement bolts using one of the nuts to make sure I had the same thread for screwing into the intake. Home Depot ran $3.00 vs Fords $20.00. :nice:
