I wana put a spacer on my accelarator this weekend and theres no way I can do it unless I take the cable out of the leaver its in. Mustangworld.com says to just push fwd and slide out......I can't seem to get it out.
what they said. Just open the throttle bufferfly with your hand by pushing the linkage back right there on the TB, and you'll get enough slack in the steel cable to push the end of it out the side. The other cable just has a clip on it.

You need to take a look at the linkage on the LEFT side. You'll see the cable run under and into a hole. You have to pull the cable and move the wire so it lines up with the slot so you can free the cable. It's a pain to get back on too. Maybe more so for me because my car was hot when I did it
