hey guys im trying to sell/trade my dd. beater MIATA....
wel i keep getting offers to trade. And i wanted to know the best way to do it.... besides just signing are titles over and leaving...although the easiest. than do i record it as a trade when it comes to cost....

Or notarize each bill of sale as a "gift". No taxes on a gift....that's how I sold my mother my last car. I wrote a bill of sale stating I was giving the car to her, had it notarized, and she paid just a flat fee for title transfer.

Make sure you call your Department of Motor Vehicles. I know they just changed the law in Tx. Used to be you could put whatever selling price you wanted on the title transfer and only pay taxes on that. With the new Law, your selling price is automatically set to a certain pr

Here is a link to the new Tx law:
Standard Presumptive Value

Your best bet might be the gift "loophole" if your state has the same law.

yeah the 1.00 is a good idea just to tick them off :rlaugh:....

That's not the way it works here in Ontario. Both parties are required to pay the taxes on the black book value of the vehicle regardless of the conditions of the sale. It sucks for us legit guys have to suffer for it, but it keeps the scammers who always try to pass off vehicle sales as "gifts" from railroading the system.
Get yourself a civic..best economy car for the money...

Fixt. :nice:

yeah i here the 2.2l s10's only get like 22mpg :notnice: vs a civic 35+:nice:
