how to??

I am soon going to be installing a b&m short throw shifter on my 2001 GT....I was just wondering hwo you take out the panel around the bottom of the shifter???

pretty simple, make sure your shift knob is screwed off, then take your hands and put your fingers on the inside ring (where the boot attaches to the ring panel) and pull upwards, eventually after alittle force it will pop loose, then just unplug the cig. lighter and that's it.
