Just ordered a set of chrome 18x9 Saleen rims from wheel replicas. How wide can I go on front and back without rubbing anything. I'm not even sure how wide I can go on the rims anyway. I know this question has probably been beaten into the groud but I couldn't find any old posts. Thanks for the help !

well for the front i woudn't go wider then 255-40... It depends of far you lowered it. I have a slight rub when i do a sharp turn a certain way with mine.. (17x9 w/255-40-17s and an eibach pro kit) Its not really hurting anything so i let it be. It did the same thing with my 245/45/17s i had on the same wheels too.

Far as the back goes you could probably go a little wider on the tire then 255 But to do it right you might as well just get some 10.5-11" wide rims and the tires to match.

I have the 255's up front and Have the same problem with the Rub in a tight turn in a parking lot. Its the innner fender well where hte battery bump out is. My Inner fender is now worn through, maybe ill fix it some day.

What is the largest you can get on the back with the 10.5 or 11inch rims WITHOUT rubbing? My friend has 275's on can you get in the 300's?

Humm, maybe that is what my problem is with my tires i have 255/40's and when i go backwards at full lock my front end knocks alittle but it has only started doing this? then agian i just moved and it dosen't do it all the time only when i move out of my parking space. I was stating to think it was my tie rod ends, ball joints, or bushing going bad....hell it sill might be i guess it's time to check.

The rear you can go with nice and wide tires... On my 10.5 rims i have 315/35/17's... They clear everything, just bearly but they do clear everything. And I have exactly 2' of rubber that meets the ground in the rear.

I am like 1/2-1/4" from the breakline and im flush with the finderwell. And i have no issues with the exhuast...

Heh, on my 94 I have exhaust rubbing up a lot with the 315's. I have to relocate the pipes. I wonder why I have problems and you don't.

Ill be picking up my Side exhaust tomorrow so the rear exit exhaut wont be an issue... Im not planning this mod for a while but I am interested to see what will fit. Since there is no Exhaust back there somthing NEEDS to be there to fill up all that space. Is you car lowered?? Mine has H&R's and bilstien shocks. Its pretty low how will that effect the rears? maybe a 305?

yes my car is lowered about an inch and a half... The rear doesn't seem to be an issue at all, its the fronts that seem to rub under unusual circumstances due to the lowering of the car.

Depending on how wide you go you may have to watch out for the break line (i think its the emergancy brake cable) in the rear. Like i said i have 10.5 wide rims with 315/35/17's. I didn't even have to mess with the shocks..

Now are you talking about trying to go up to a 305 on a 9" wide rim? If so i don't think you can.. The maximum size recommended from what i have seen for a 9" rim is like a 285/40.

I think there is a bullit wheel that is actually 11" wide.. Now im not sure what size tire they are using for that. You would probably be running open wheeled...

I have 17x8 Cobra rims with 255/45 and have no problem with rubbing up front. I'm like to go with 265/35 18 up front and 285/35 18 outback. Those 335's are to much !!!!

the reason some people can fit 335 and others can only fit 305's is becuase of the difference in rims
