go to mustangexhaust.com and register, then you will be able to check out their sound clips. I'm pretty sure they have some Bassani there.

I kinda like the sound of my Thrush turbos dumped, or at least no pipe after the muffler, especially with the 4.10 gears, etc. Cracked floorpans and all, no real fume problem. Sounds like it might have real mufflers, and the sound is from under the middle of the car, so it is not as loud as if it started at the rockers or bumper area.

I had side exit pipes on it, until they hit on my trailer, so they came off, and it is quieter outside with just the mufflers hung about 2 ft past the headers.

I have been wondering if Flowmasters would give me a performance increase over the 2 1/2 in Thrushes, or sound even better.

i have bbk shorties with dumped flows, offroad pipes, sounds good, its actually not too terribly loud, just a nice deep muscle sound, it does smell like gas is leaking sometimes though and its loud as **** in the inside of the car, btw, what do you guys mean by drone?

when you cruise at a certain rpm and the exhaust tone resonates and fills the inside of the car with louder sound...

Im not sure i agree with all you guys that are saying that dumped flows drone. I have fms shorties, mac o/r h and dumper 40 series originals, and its loud as hell but doesnt drone AT ALL!! it did drone like crazy however when i had my mac hpipe with high flow cats. The absence of the cats really gets rid of the droning problems. it does sound crazy though!! makes the car sound like it has a lot more than just a little 302 in there. good luck

Glad you like it. When I did mine, it made it sound cammed out, even though my cam is stock.

i have a flowtech OR x pipe, mac unequals, and flowmaster 40 2 chamber dumped, i thought i should shave weight and save the 30 lbs that the tips weigh, but i regret it, on the freeway i cant hear a damn thing and it sets off car alarms. im trying to find something cheap to swap on, then maybe just throw the flows on at the track, getting sick of coasting every time a cop rolls by, one of these days i'm going to get a ticket and i really hope he doesnt dig too deep into my car, CA sucks............

Yeah I will be a bit worried about the cop vs. loundness too. Hell I alreaady go pulled over once w/ tail pipes so whats the difference. Although the cop didnt give me ticket I think w/ dumps he would have.

Like I said the rear diff is out so I cant drive it only start it in the garage.

Sound good tho.

not to hijack this thread or anything but could you turn the dumps so that they point to the left and right side of the car, sort of like sidepipes, but not. would this quiet the car down from the outside a little bit?
