To anyone else reading any of my posts I usually include the line:

Today's cars simply will not run right without a strong battery and charging system! Cut corners here at your own risk!

I'm a big believer in starting with the basics. As such I generally advise everyone to start every electrical trouble shooting session with a through check of the battery and charging system. For the average DIY'er it's easier to have an auto parts store test the alternator and battery. Most auto parts...

you have to post something, which you have done, and it gets approved after a stringent background check and then you can move about the plane ahh, er, site and as you participate you get access to more 'doors'
you should be good to go,
