I bought a used 2006 GT with 26,000 miles on it. Looking to make some HP modes to the new toy. I see a couple of suggestions on mods for a 2006 but would benefit me the most on HP gains. looking to spend around $2500.00. Any suggestion would be a great help. Thanks ALL

Save a little more and get a blower, then you can work on other stuff like suspension.

Or you could get some heads and cams, but you may bust your budget a bit.

You can get a nitrous kit with a tune for around 1400. That will leave you with 1100. You can put the rest toward suspension and tires, or open up the exhaust a bit?

Hhhmm. $2500. A 95mm cold air intake and a tuner, long tube headers and mufflers. There are other items to get but it depends on what your long term power goals would be.

I say start off with the full exhaust but it all depends if you have any future plans for the car

Dont do a throttle body, I would work on Intake and exhaust. My exhaust was roughly 1200 and my intake was 650. Add headers to that, and bam, you should be pleased.

Wind-Farmer,

Why not do do a throttle body? What type of exhaust would you recommend and CAI as well. By the way sweet stang you have. What type of rims are those.

After market throttle body's are difficult to tune properly and do not offer any performance gain.

This is my advice;
1: CAI and SCT tuner package. $554.00
2: 4.10 gears. (No HP gain but worth it) $200.00
3: Long tube Headers and mid pipe. $965.00
4: Cams $750.00

If your not planning on FI, then its simple, cai, good tune, gears, exhaust. A tune and cai alone will bring dramatic improvements over stock. You can do a lot with $2500.

I did this last, but i wish i would have done it first. It won't gain you HP, but it will put you back in your seat. 4.10 gears

I say start off with a good CAI, Tuner, and some gears (I have heard that 4.10s are nice). Even after that you will have money left over to do more
