Hello,
I just picked up a Hurst Shifter for use with the stock knob. I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information about the install between web writeups and the 2 versions of the installation instructions.
The instructions that came with the unit are dated 5/05 and specify that the long side of the shifter arm should go toward the passenger(right) side. If it is installed that way, the serrated grooves on the shaft on the shifter appear to be correct with the post being installed on the right side.
I've seen writeups on the stangnet site and the 12/05 version of the instructions showing the long side is pointing to the driver(left) side. If installed this way the serrated grooves appear to be on the driver(left) side which doesn't look correct.
Also, the car is a 2007 and the stock front assembly arm only contained one large metal bushing that goes all the way through from on the passeger side instead of the 2 smaller one's that went in from both ends that's shown in the instructions and web writeups.
Any advice, anyone.
Thanks,
Paul
