Yeah, I'm kind of getting back into it a bit.. meaning the 4x4 world. I used to trail ride and mess around... mainly for the chicks when I was young. Now a few friends are back into it so I found myself tempted again. It will slow my 67 Fastback progress down a bit... but that's okay. This thing is pretty much complete... even has a 91 Mustang engine set up on fuel injection. Maybe I can use it as a blueprint to put the same set up in the Mustang...
Great looking Bronco!
Not only do early Broncos look great but they are equipped with the right parts as well. Either 9 inch or D44 in rear and a D44 up front and a 289 or 302engine. Yours is even better with the fuel injected 302. That will definitely be a blessing when you get on off camber hills off road. Carbs don't like that.
My daily driver is a '97 Wrangler. Off roading is great. It does slow the progress of my '66 Coupe but if I ever get burned out on one of my "toys" I just switch to the other.
i've always loved the EB's. i could have bought a friends old 69 for 1000 bucks but at the time he was asking 2500 it wasn't until after he sold it that he told me he decided to take less i guess he just didn't want to see it pull up to work everyday. he said the reason he decided to let it go so cheap was he really wanted to be able to drive to work without getting frostbite since his heater didn't work and there were holes in the floors big enough to put your leg through, and they weren't rust holes either. the PO before him had done some really stupid things to that poor bronc.
i've always thought that converting one of them to 2WD would be pretty cool as well, it would definitely have to be roadster style and have the open door frames like yours too. i wouldn't cut one up to do it though, i'd probably just swap in the front axle from a 2wd jeep cherokee and lower it some. i think it would be a pretty cool cruiser
Actually it's kind of funny... I sold the wife on the Bronco by insisting it was for the whole family. Which it kind of is. The kids love it already.. and the wife always liked Jeeps. We can do a little camping and stuff with it. Also I won't mind the wife driving it around whenever she feels like it. She don't touch the Mustang... which is probably good....
