i went to my gfs today as she just came home from college (i came home yesterday) and my birthday was over the weekend so she gave me my present today and it was a mach 1 grill delete ill get some pics up as soon as i can get it in..its gunna look so good

anyone who is curious its the 3 pc

You need a set of security torx bits. My set cost $24

Off to the hardware store you go...

The good news is that once you get these bits you can clean your MAF as well...

i guess i really have no choice...

oh and btw..the screws that hold that piece on to the valance, are the screws supposed to be on the underside of the valance? cuz they were for me and it was a pain to get them off!

Yeah, you have to "peel back" to access those screws and yes, it is a royal pain in the ass...

the instructions CDC prints out makes it look so simple...i had to actually saw off two of those plastic screws that hold the valance on cuz they wouldnt come out

ill wait till my dad gets home later, he might have a torx set somewhere..for now im going to clean up the area, its a mess

***note to anyone who is going to do this: dont think itll take u 15 min...it wont!

A regular torx set will not work... It has to be security torx...

Grill delete is a lot easier if you completely remove the bumper cover.

that crossed my mind while i was outside...i knew something was bound to go wrong eventually

but then you wont be able to see the hard work i put into installing it

so yea, my dad doesnt have the proper tools, so off to a hardware shop..ill have to wait till friday

You can use a very small chisel or drift to strike that pin out of the center of the torx screw if you are skilled and lucky...

Or you can seize the head with needle nose vice grips and make it comply with your wishes...

tomorrow in the light im going to take a closer look at it...im gunna try drilling it out, see what happens

or you could just get the right torx bit and not run the risk of stripping the head...i've always found that to be easiest.
