I was talking with my brother tonight about some driving he got to do today. He works for Nike, and for whatever reason GM was out there with some cars for people to look at and drive.

Here is what he got to drive:

- Cadillac CTS-V
- Cadillac XLR
- Pontiac GTO
- C6 Corvette
- Z06 Corvette

His reaction -- the caddy's were real nice, performed very well and had lots and lots of doo-dads. Things like keyless everything, pushbutton start, pushbutton doors (no handles), etc. The GTO he said was disappointing, it did not perform as he had hoped. The C6 was "very nice, very refined". And the Z06, which he drove last, was "amazing". He said the Z06 was quite noticably the highest performing car there.

Anyway, I'm very jealous. I'm not a huge Chevy fan, but I would have very much enjoyed test driving all of these cars. And I will freely admit that I've long considered a Z06 Vette as likely a candidate for my next car as a 2007 Cobra is. Even if it is a Chebby...

Wow what a dream that would be to drive and see all those cars all at once.Your brother definately scored on that deal :nice: Ya that new vette ,especialy the z06 is eye candy...Although I am not a big chevy guy my self either, A C-6 would definately fit rather nice in the garage :D

Yep I got to dirve the C6 too, didnt have any interest driving any of the others so...
Here's a pic of the puppy I drove :D

This car is superb the power is there and the handling :hail2:and it looks great in person :)

I got to drive all the cars Gregg (dave's brother did) except for the ZO6, which I didnt bother with since I used to have a C5 that had all the Z06 goodies plus more. I was sorta disappointed in the C6 torque. I guess Im used to 4.10s in my SS and 5.0. The XLR was a little too ritzy for me, the CTS-V didnt feel all THAT powerful either, though it sure did handle nicely, and the car I thought was better than I expected? THe GTO. I liked it. With traction control off the A4 would drop down to 1st and you could leave stripes everywhere. Fun group of drives.

It's good to work for the swoosh! :D

The engines were heat soaked from all the test drives, when I got mine it was a little over the 220*F mark.

Ah... the good thing about plastic intakes... that has about no effect :)

The cars felt slow because Im used to LS1s with 425+ rwhp (my bro, mine, my father in laws are all at least heads/cam/headers) and at least my cars have 4.10s in both of them.

Im sure they were fast cars, but if you turned traction control off, and then stomped on the gas in 1st, it wouldnt lose traction in either the C6 or CTSV. Probably just good traction, right? ;)
