This is rediculous. So many people with 03 Cobra problems.
Are there any 03 Cobra owners 100% happy with the car? Do all of them have similar problems?

Well Neo, you are a little better off than me. Mine's in the process of being lemoned. I've eaten up 4 throw out bearings, had the steering bushings replaced, got a brand new transmission, and those are just the major problems. My diff is leaking, my windshield is destroyed thanks to a defective hoodlatch (a repair ford denied). Now, I am weary to get a new one once the lemon suit is over. I really like the way that C6 is looking... but man, the Cobra is bad to the bone -- when it works.

sounds like my buddies car. We figured it out what was wrong when we took it to another dealership. My memory is a little vague on what it was but I THINK they installed the flywheel wrong and screwed up a few things in his tranny. He got it paid off through courts cause it was labled a Lemon.

car was probably built on a Friday.

Yeah that's the only thing that's keeping me happy right now. I have to take off alot of parts before going to the dealer since they will try to void my warranty. But a cold air and exhaust shouldnt make an engine go. I talked to the service manager and if I am correct as to what is wrong then I will be getting a new motor

Don't be sad. A new motor and all these problems will be gone! Might want a different dealer to do the install though...

Just Say no to cars built on friday...

My 2000 V6 started out with some pretty bad problems...

1438 Miles....Blown Rear Main Seal. Had to replace Seals, Clutch and a few
other things.

1557 Miles....Blown Waterpump

3564 Miles....Destroyed 3rd Gear, New Transmission

5303 Miles....Blown Head Gasket.

My '04GT is starting out on its problems now..

345 Miles...Grounded out wire in the Wiring Harness....

406 Miles...Broken Serpentine Belt.

It really sucks that you have to go through all these problems with a new car, I really hope the Lemon Suit works out for you. I was one repair away from filing it with my 00 V6.

Damn Neo sorry to hear that, you can come in my posts again. I don't care that you have a 03 Cobra anymore. Hey don't worry bro if i got a 03 Cobra that thing would blow up on my leavin the dealer.

If your motor blows again maybe you can get another Cobra. They might be able to put it as a lemon.

Do 03 Cobra's have a lot of problems? I really don't hear many problems with the 03s but I don't ask many people, so i don't know.

Thanks again guys. I listened to my car again today and it's now loud enough to hear inside the car with the windows up. It's getting worse. I had a friend listen to it since he works on cars all the time and he also verified that it was a bottom end problem. So at least it's not in my head.

There are alot of Cobras having wrist pin failures and a few have been replaced due to excessive piston slap. I know I am not the only one that has had a motor go south.

I will keep everyone informed as to the outcome.

Sounds like this would be a good time to go out and see what she will REALLY do before it goes. Sort of like sex with a pregnant girl. She can't get pregnant again. If the motor blows you may be stranded but you can have some fun before it does. These kinds of problems have me starting to wonder if I want to be first on my block to get an 05. I mean it would be under warrenty but who wants to have their car in the shop all of the time?

Well Here is an update on my car. The dealer just called and the Ford Rep is coming out to listen to my car. So there is a good possiblility that I will be getting a new motor. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

03 Cobra Messed up???

03trubluGT said:
I don't remember what his user name was, but in late 2002 a friend bought a 2003 Cobra and found out it had unreported body damage. The dealership took in the car and it had to have the whole passenger side rear quarter cut out and a new one welded in. After he got the car back, he posted new pics and someone pointed out that the passenger side had GT rocker panels. The car went back into the shop and they discovered an oil leak.

After the car being in the shop almost 2 months, they finally finished. Ford made a car payment, gave him chrome cobra rims, and gave him the extended warranty.

He called it the "FrankenCobra" after finding the mismatched parts.

I am, and so are a majority of people. But as has been said hundreds of times, people dont come unline to post messages "the cars still doing ok, im satisfied!", they usually come online to post their problems and ask for advice or help so thats all you really hear.
