I can hear my valves.

I can hear my valves, my oil level is ok.

It just doesnt sound normal.
or it could be spark knock.

I had a problem before but it was a slower tick, and showed up more under a load, this shows up when you give it some gas. Much fast, like the rockers or valves or or something. could it be my octane level? i have been running 87
i had 93 and i think it was better.

my gas guage broke yesterday, how do i fix/ replace?

Could it be a header leak? I thought I had a bad lifter, but it was just a bad header gasket. Start it at night and open the hood and see if you see and sparks.

does it happen at idle (no load)? worse when the motor is cold? dont forget that it could be an exhaust leak.

start the motor cold and stick your hand around the hearder very very quickly to see if you can feel anything, it heats up REAL fast so do it quick. if you feel air blowing then its the gasket

you cant hear it at idle, cant tell if its even there or way tooo quiet to hear.

Also, does the gasket seal up right against the head good or is there space. becasuse there is quite a bit of space on the front most left header pipe

mine makes a knocking sound when at idle..but when i rev it up..it stops or just gets quiet..any suggestions
