I cant shut off the traction control, HELP!

Ever since I bought my '99 Cobra vert ('04 Mach motor), I have not been able to turn off the traction control. Its weird, I hit the button but there is nothing on the dash to indicate it is off and I see no light on the button itself. After I press the button (and this may be a coincidence), I get a Check engine light a few minutes later. I had codes pulled and nothing. The T/C is annoying as hell, especially when I floor it in first and it bogs or I shift hard into second and it bogs. The T/C light on the dash (green wheel thingy) comes on when the T/C is working but how do I turn it off?. If there is a way to permanantly get rid of it I'd do it. Thanks.

I have a diablosport handheld tuner for my 00 GT. In the tune you can disable T/C... have you tried this yet? BTW if you disable T/C in the tune, you can't turn it back on with the button.

Sounds good, I think I'll buy one if I cant get a simpler (i.e less expensive) answer like "cut this or that wire", so I could finally light 'em up damnit!. Thanks..............any cheaper solutions?
