I didn't mark the initial timing on my harmonic balancer before I turned the cap a few degrees. Now I want to retard my timing a bit since my plugs were n the white side and I don't know how to make sure where my timing is. My harmonic balancer is kind of rusty and its hard to read. What can I do?

you turned what cap? distributor? I would get a little wire brush or a piece of sand paper and clean that balancer off. after that get a piece of chalk and mark where you want your timing. Once you do that just start it up and adjust it to where you want.
