I am looking at a built small block for an 06 gt, so I don't have to worry about blowing the engine with a super charger. I have done my share of car repairs, almost all on older british cars. I have replaced many engines and trannys, and rewired those cars. How hard is it for a weekend mechanic to put together an engine, if I have someone build the small block? On the british cars I removed the engines and trannys with a block and tackle on a chain, but the "newest" car I worked on would have been a 1974 mg midget.
Is this possible for me and some mechanically savy friends to do? I spoke with a mechanic and was told that just the engine removal was an 8 hour job! I do have access to a garage with a lift and all, but would rather set up here at home.
I have not even looked here in maine for a shop to do the work, just spoke with a local ford service on putting in a super charger. I would so love to do this work myself, just get a small block...how much else would I need, (besides the supercharger)?
Many thanks,
Doc
