well i used a short 1/4 socket instead of a long one and now i cant pull out... sounds like a personal problem... and it is...

Any tips to get this out is more than welcome... i've even tried thinking about fat girls but its not working :)

Starting the car for the first time in 5 months tommorrow...

and 55 psi oil pressure :)

k fought for about an hour.. it is not moving... i need an industrial strength magnet, who sells one?

If that doesn't work i have to pull out the oil system... which is pulling the whole engine out again...

AND i hooked up the battery and fried a **** ton of wires and i lost head lights and dash lights... so i get to trace that out.

So your socket is stuck on the shaft? Did you try reversing it a bit to loosen it up, then fishing it out with a magnet? Ive never been in your shoes, so Im just trying to picture it from seeing it in other pics... Do you have one of those pen style telescoping magnets that can reach down in there?

this thing is on way too tight... i need to pull everything out... whats the fastest way... i just need to pull the oil drive shaft out, or maybe even just move it up in the air about 1 inch... ideas?

new idea...

drill the back end of the socket out... once it breaks, the top will just slide down and stay on the shaft.. i know its not good but... i dont want to pull and engine that took me 5 days to get back in. or im thinking an e-Z out on the back and hope it pulls.

what about all the metal shaving's that will come from drilling the socket?
if they get in your engine,it'll just destroy all your hard work.
best to not cut corner's and do it the right way.
i know it's a lot of work, but i'd rather disassemble what i need to and remove the socket, then replace a f****d up engine due to metal shaving floating around in there.

Just make sure to change your oil after spraying brake clean down there!!! That socket must really be on there man, I also think that you should bite down and take the kick in the balls to disassemble things to get it off the right way. You dont want metal shavings in your engine, even if you change the oil and think you have it all out...

If you are not careful

The retaining clip will slip down the shaft :bang:

then ... the shaft could fall to the bottom of the pan :fuss:

Good Luck with the fix :nice:

Sorry ... I got no ideas other than pull it apart

well, i lassoed the engine, droped the pan, slid the rack out of the way.. 5 and a half hours... but we got it out.... which i got these responses before i did all that work! damnit! lol its all back together now, going to use a long socket to prim it this time.
