I finally got the old girl to the rust chapel.

Well I broke down and saved up enough money to get my old 71' Mach 1 in the rust shop. These guys are going to cut out all the old rusted metal and weld in new steel and the rust proof it. A little bit extra steel here and there and we'll have a untwistable frame

The site for this shop is www.rustfix.com when they post pic of what they're doing to my car I can link it to here. Feels good to be doing something with the car besides tinker with the carb for a change. I'm a big fan of extra steel.

But the old girl still runs and after the frame is under her we can upgrade the brakes. Gonna try bigger wheels with some 13" disks cause you gotta be able to stop all that extra steel. hehe

Gonna need a bigger engine too. Gotta be able to get all that steel moving. lol YEAH BABY.

I ended up in CT for 3 years. Anybody from CT?

So my project is finally moving forward. Anybody else have a victory story.

Hope you don't mind, but I see by your profile you're a navy guy. Any friends in other parts of the Navy that can do work for you, or has the military changed a lot? When I was in the USAF, we used to swap skills and do work for each other on their cars. I was a hydraulic guy so I made up high pressure braided hoses for guys. One of my friends made me a custom steel bumper. Had a friend who was in the electrical shop. My favorite friend was a cook! We had barbeques every night!

Sorry '69Mach1Chick you wern't advertising a year ago and I hate paying tolls to drive on a road. Oh well, the issue with my Navy buddies doing it is that we're all way the hell to busy to rebuild the frame of a rusted doobie-mobile. Gonna have to redo the wiring in my house, that'll be enough fun. Anyways, I'm excited. Hey Chelle have you decided on a color for Sadie yet? I can't get over the deep red with the black Mach 1 stripes. hehe gonna be a lot of fun finishing this thing.

She's going to be white with a black vinyl top. I finally finished the d-side floor pan and I almost have all the smaller holes under the back seat patched so I'm almost ready to put the interior back together. Of course, now it's too hot to work outside.

Congrats on the house. My first house was in Norwich on route 2A (1905 house made by Sears). That town always had something going on.

I have a fair amount of hands on carpentry, plumbing and household electrical experience. So we could get together and wrench on houses too. I'm currently in the planning and design stages of a 2 story, 6 car garage (I live on a hill - 3 bays rear bottom access, 3 bays top front access).
