If you are persuasive, you can call up AOL to cancel, and they will give you free months just to stay on. I've seen people get more than a year of free internet service.
The advantage is, AOL doesnt make their primary revenue off subscriptions anymore, its the ads. One benefit to having you on as a member, is more clicks to their ads, which is what they want. They couldn't care less about the 20 or so bucks a month, they make much more off ad exposure, and selling your information to other companies.
I have AOL. I've had it for 6 years now. Way back when 3.0 was around.
What kinda "service" do you have? Everyone always says that they pay 25 bucks a month for it, while I get 15/mo for unlimited use. Although, I'm still on DialUp.
Thats a long time. I had AOL a long ass time ago, when it was one of ony a few ISPs in Oregon. I signed up for it in 1994 or so, it was a DOS client on 3.5" floppy. I actually had jmorgan@aol.com for about 2 years. Pretty nuts!

Those were the good old days, dialing in at 2400 baud. Back when a 256 color nude picture took you at least 15-20 minutes to download. You kids these days are spoiled, I tell ya.
